Taking Your Teeth on the Road

Posted .

If you are planning a vacation, you need to make sure that you take care of your teeth, after all, nothing ruins a vacation quite like a toothache. So what should you do to make sure your getaway is free of dental problems?

First, schedule a checkup for you and members of your family. That way, our dentist, Dr. Diego Flores can detect and address any problems such as cavities or cracked teeth before you leave. You should also keep the dentist’s business card with you, in case you develop a problem while you are traveling and need to contact him. As you travel, make sure your toothbrush and toothpaste are clean and kept separate from other things in your luggage. You should use toothpaste with a flip-top cap to make sure you don’t drop it on the floor of a public or hotel bathroom. Clothespins are also good for holding up your toothbrush to dry. If you are driving, stick to drinking water instead of soft drinks, and enjoy snacks that are good for your teeth, such as apple slices, celery and carrots. If you stop for a bathroom break or have a layover at the airport, that is a good time to brush your teeth.

If you are planning a trip in the near future, you need to make sure that you don’t forget to take care of your teeth. For more dental hygiene tips in Spring, Texas, or to schedule a pre-trip dentist appointment, contact America's Family Dental at 281-602-8843 today.
